In these unprecedented times our members and district community will be addressing numerous challenges the likes of which have never been encountered before.
As the Business Improvement District for Midtown, the Midtown BID are working to support and help our members in any and all ways possible as we emerge from full lockdown towards a phased recovery.
To this endeavour our campaigns, initiatives and projects are all being reappraised and refocussed to address both the current climate and our districts longer-term renewal and have developed our Covid-19: RISE strategy – RENEW, INVIGORATE, SUPPORT, EVOLVE – which outlines our current work priorities and objectives.
In addition, Midtown BID’s newly appointed interim Chief Executive Officer, Debbie Akehurst is now holding twice weekly sessions in order to meet, via zoom, and hear first-hand from members as to how the BID can best serve them and are seeking their views on the work we are doing as a consequence of not just the Covid-19 pandemic but also the longer term future prosperity of the district and our member businesses.
Commenting on the launch of Midtown’s recovery strategy, Alexander Jan, Midtown chair said,
“Right now, we need to be doing everything in our power to help our levy-payers to safely re-open and welcome their workers back to central London. There is a long way to go, but with targeted initiatives and working in close partnership with Camden and Islington – we can help to get Holborn, Bloomsbury, St Giles, Clerkenwell and Farringdon well on the road to recovery over the coming months.”
